Kamjong, Pherzawl districts continue to report no new COVID-19 cases

A total of 677 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours pushed Manipur's COVID-19 caseload to 1,06,707 on Thursday.

Kamjong and Pherzawl districts in Manipur continued to report no new COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday, while other districts in the state totaled 677 new COVID-19 positive cases that pushed the state's caseload to 1,06,707 while the death toll mounted to 1,683 with nine more fatalities. The new positive cases included five personnel of the Central Armed Police Force, according to the latest update by the state health department.

Of the nine COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Thursday, one death each were reported each from Imphal West, Imphal East, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul and two fatalities each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

The release stated that of the nine deaths, six persons had co-morbidities and four of them were vaccinated with the first dose. 

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 283 and 152 cases respectively. Fifty-two are from Bishnupur, 49 from Churachandpur, 15 from Kakching, 26 from Kangpokpi, 12 from Senapati, 11 from Tamenglong, 47 from Thoubal, 16 from Ukhrul, six from Tengnoupal, four from Chandel, three from Jiribam and one from Noney.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 690 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 98,189. The recovery rate is 92.01 per cent, the release added. With it, Manipur now has 6,835 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,622 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  315 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 14,24,962 (first dose: 11,61,304 and second dose: 2,63,658).

According to the release, there are 152 vacant general beds and 72 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 11 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower (Contact No. 9311222947) there are three vacant general beds and nine ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 31 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 18 vacant general beds and one ICU/HDU beds

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 14 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 10 vacant general beds and 13 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 39 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 25 vacant general beds and 13 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are one general beds and six ICU/HDU, it mentioned.

According to a release, of the total 3,547 beds available in all the district Covid Care Centres of Manipur, the total number of vacant beds as on Thursday are 2,266.

The vacant beds in Imphal East (Bal Bhawan, NSU, Standard College, AYUSH Hospital) are 170, 696 in Imphal West(LKK, RD Wing, MU Hostels, NIT), 248  Thoubal, 69 in Bishnupur, 50 in Kakching, 106 in Churachandpur, 42 in Pherzawl, 200 in Senapati, nine in Tengnoupal, 53 in Jiribam, 29 in Noney, 55 in Kangpokpi, 245 in Tamenglong, 58 Chandel, 56 in Ukhrul and 180 in Kamjong, the release mentioned.
