India's COVID-19 death toll rose to 5,27,206, with 72 more deaths, while the confirmed caseload rose to 4,42,98,864 with 12,608 more people detected with COVID-19 infection as of Thursday, as per the latest official updates.
According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 4,36,70,315 people in the country have recovered from the infection so far. Thursday recorded 16,251 new recoveries and the recovery rate stood at 98.58 per cent.
Following it, India's COVID-19 active caseload rose to 1,01,343, which is 0.23 per cent of the total caseload. Maharashtra reported the highest number of COVID-19 active cases at 11,370.
As many as 88.14 crore total tests have been conducted so far, as 3,62,020 more tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Consequently, the daily positivity rate was (3.48 per cent) and the weekly positivity rate stood at 4.20 per cent, a release stated.
Meanwhile, over 208.95 crore total vaccine doses (93.86 cr Second Dose and 12.92 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the release added.
