India's single-day COVID-19 positive caseload drops to 5,921

Indian on Saturday reported a new low of 5,921 new COVID-19 positive cases and 289 COVID-19 detahs in the last 24 hours, according to the latest updates by the Union health Ministry.

The new cases pushed India’s Active Caseload to 63,878. The cumulative active cases constitute 0.15 per cent of the country's total positive cases. India's confirmed caseload reached 4,29,57,477 as of Saturday, while the death toll mounted to 5,14,878.

Meanwhile, 11,651patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) as of Saturday is 4,23,78,721. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stood at 98.65 per cent.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 9,40,905 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 77.19 Cr (77,19,14,261) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 0.84 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 0.63 per cent.

With the administration of more than 24.62 lakh (24,62,562) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 178.55Cr (1,78,55,66,940) as per provisional reports till 7 am Saturday.
