India's daily positivity rate remains below 3% for last 13 days

India's total COVID-19 active caseload reached 4,06,822 with 39,070 new positive cases

India on Sunday reported 39,070 new cases in the last 24 hours and the total active caseload reached 4,06,822. The number of active cases constituted 1.27 per cent of total cases, as per the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

According to the ministry’s bulleting on COVID-19 update, the weekly positivity rate remained below five per cent at 2.38 per cent, while daily positivity rate stood at 2.27 per cent; less than three per cent for last 13 days.

The country’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached over 3.19 crore, while the death toll reached 4,27,862 with 491 new deaths. 

A total of 3,10,99,771 recoveries were reported across the country so far. The recovery rate currently stood at 97.39 per cent, as 43,910 more patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

As the testing capacity has been substantially ramped up, over 48.00 crore tests have been conducted.

Meanwhile, over 50.68 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
