India's daily COVID-19 positive cases fall below 8000-mark

The daily positivity rate is 0.64 per cent, less than 2% for last 68 days, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.71%, less than 1% for last 27 days.

India on Saturday reported less than 8000 new COVID-19 caseload with 7,992 new cases in a span of 24 hours, as per the latest updates by the Union Government.

The daily positivity rate is 0.64 per cent, less than 2% for last 68 days, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.71%, less than 1% for last 27 days.

India's COVID-19 active caseload currently stands at 93,277; lowest in 559 days. The active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.27 per cent; lowest since March 2020.

A total of 9,265 more recoveries reported in the last 24 hours pushed the total number of recoveries to 3,41,14,331. The country's total recovery rate currently at 98.36 per cent is highest since March 2020.

Meanwhile, 65.46 crore total tests have been conducted so far across the country and 131.99 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
