India’s daily COVID-19 new cases fell below 10000-mark at 8,488 in the last 24 hours; lowest in last 538 days on Monday, according to the latest updates by the Union Health Ministry.
Following it, India's COVID-19 active caseload stood at 1,18,443; lowest in 534 days, the ministry stated in a release.
The country’s COVID-19 active cases account for less than one per cent of total cases, currently at 0.34 per cent; lowest since March 2020.
The daily positivity rate (1.08 per cent) remained less than 2 per cent for last 49 days, while the weekly positivity rate (0.93 per cent) less than two per cent for the last 59 days.
The Recovery Rate currently is 98.31 per cent, highest since March 2020 as 12,510 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,39,34,547, the ministry stated.
Meanwhile, over 63.25 crore total tests have been conducted so far, while 116.87 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Nearly 33 Lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours, the release stated.
A total of 19,15,97,004 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years have been fully vaccinated so far.
The ministry also stated that over 131 crore (1,31,05,07,060) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Govt of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 21.64 Cr (21,64,01,986) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered as of Monday.
