India on Wednesday reported 11,903 new COVID-19 positive cases in a span of 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated.
The country’s COVID-19 active caseload stood at 1,51,209; lowest in 252 days. The active cases account for less than one percent of the total cases, currently at 0.44 per cent; lowest since March 2020.
The total Covid-19 confirmed cases rose to 3,43,08,140, while the death toll mounted to 4,59,191 as 311 more patients succumbed to the disease across the country, the ministry said in a release
The Recovery Rate currently at 98.22 per cent is highest since March 2020. A total of 14,159 recoveries in the last 24 hours pushed the total recoveries to 3,36,97,740.
The daily positivity rate (1.11%) remained less than 2% for last 30 days, while the weekly positivity Rate (1.18%) stood below 2% for last 40 days, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, 61.12 crore total tests have been conducted and a total of 107.29 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
