India's daily COVID-19 caseload drops below 7000-mark

India's Covid-19 confirmed cases rose to 3,47,10,628, total recoveries reached 3,41,46,93, and death toll mounted to 4,76,135.

India reported 6,984 new COVID-19 cases, 8,168 total recoveries and 247 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Tuesday.

Following the new updates, India’s Covid-19 active caseload stood at 87,562. The Covid-19 active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.25 per cent; lowest since March 2020.

The country’s Covid-19 confirmed cases rose to 3,47,10,628, total recoveries reached 3,41,46,93, and death toll mounted to 4,76,135.

Consequently, the recovery rate was 98.38 per cent; highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate (0.59%) remained less than two per cent for last 72 days, while the weekly positivity rate (0.67%) stood below one per cent for the last 31 days.

In all, 65.88 crore total tests have been conducted so far, and 134.61 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
