India's COVID-19 tally increased to over 91.77 lakh on Tuesday after 37,975 new cases reported in a day, according to the Union Health Ministry's latest updates.
The total coronavirus cases, as per the Health Ministry's data, is 91,77,840 and the death toll mounted to 1,34,218 with 480 new fatalities, including 121 from Delhi alone. The national fatality rate stands at 1.46 per cent.
While the number of active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date 4,38,667 active cases, the number of recoveries stood at 86,04,955. The national recovery rate is 93.76 per cent.
So far a total of 13.36 crore samples have been tested for COVID-19 across the country. Of these, 10,99,545 samples were tested on Monday.
Delhi reported 4,454 fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday and 121 deaths in a span of a day, pushing the total death toll in the national capital to 8,512, The total COVID count in Delhi is now 5,34,317, including 37,329 active cases and 4,88,476 recoveries.
Maharashtra with 17,84,361 confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to be the worst coronavirus affected state in the country. As many as 4,153 new COVID-19 cases, 3,729 recoveries, and 30 deaths were reported in the state on Monday. While there are 81,902 active cases in the state, a total of 16,54,793 patients have recovered so far. The death toll has mounted to 46,653.
