India's Covid-19 death toll climbs to 5,26,430

COVID-19 claimed 34 more lives and infected 13,734 more people across India, as per the latest official updates.

The number of COVID-19 in India has reached 4,40,50,009 with 13,734 new positive cases detected across the country and the cumulative death toll climbed to 5,26,430 with the report of 34 more fatalities as of Tuesday morning, according to official sources.

As many as 17,897 new recoveries were reported, taking the total recovered number to 4,33,83,787 across the country. The recovery rate stood at 98.49 per cent.

Consequently, India’s Active Caseload currently rose to 1,39,792. Active cases now constitute 0.32 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases. The weekly positivity rate in the country is 4.79 per cent and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 3.34 per cent.

Meanwhile, India has so far conducted over 87.58 Cr (87,58,92,611) cumulative tests. And, the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,04,60,81,081 as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday. This has been achieved through 2,71,14,804 sessions, the Union Health Ministry stated in a release.
