India’s COVID-19 active caseload rises to 19,500

According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 3,157 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Monday.

India’s COVID-19 active caseload currently stands at 19,500 on Monday and active cases now constitute 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases, according to official sources.

According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 3,157 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Monday. Consequently, the daily positivity rate is reported to be 1.07 per cent and the weekly positivity rate in the country stood at 0.70 per cent.

The country's total COVID-19 caseload reached 4,30,82,345, while the death toll reached 5,23,869 with 26 more fatalities.

India’s recovery rate stood at 98.74 per cent. 2,723 more patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,25,38,976.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 2,95,588 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 83.82 Cr (83,82,08,698) cumulative tests.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 189.23 crore (1,89,23,98,347) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,33,82,216 sessions.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 2.91 Cr (2,91,84,303) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started onfrom April 10, 2022 onwards.
