India's COVID-19 active caseload remained lowest in 17 months

India's COVID-19 active cases stood at 1,35,918 as 11,376 more patients recovered, while 11,271 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Sunday.

India on Sunday recorded 11,271 more COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, but the COVID-19 active caseload remained lowest in 17 months at 1,35,918, official sources said.

The COVID-19 active cases account for less than one per cent of total cases, currently at 0.39 per cent; lowest since March 2020, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The total COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 3,44,37,307, while the death toll mounted to 4,63,530, with the report of 285 more deaths.

The country also recorded 11,376 recoveries in the last 24 hours and the number of total recoveries increased to 3,38,37,859. Consequently, the Recovery Rate currently is 98.26 per cent; highest since March 2020.

The daily positivity rate (0.90%) remained less than 2% for last 41 days, while the weekly positivity rate (1.01%) stood below 2% for last 51 days.

A total of 1,12,01,03,225 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive and 62,37,51,344 total samples have been tested across the country so far.
