India reports 949 new COVID-19 cases, six deaths
According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, India’s active COVID-19 caseload dropped to 11,191 on Friday.

India on Friday reported 949 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths due to the infection, pushing the country's total caseload to 4,30,39.972 and death toll to 5,21,743.
According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, India’s active COVID-19 caseload increased to 11,191 on Friday, which constitutes 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent. A total of 810 patients recovered from COVID-19 in 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,25,07,038, the Health Ministry stated.
India has so far conducted 83,11,77,370 cumulative COVID-19 tests, including 3,67,213 tests done in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, as many as 1,92,27,23,625 vaccine doses have been provided to states/UTs so far through Government of India and through direct state procurement category while, a total of 20,69,39,951 balance and unutilised COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the Health Ministry informed.
