India reports 796 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths

The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India reached 4,30,36,928 while the death toll is 5,21,710 as of Tuesday.

India on Tuesday reported 796 new COVID-19 cases and 19 Coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, official sources said.

India has so far conducted 79,45,25,202 cumulative tests, including 4,06,251 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated.

The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India reached 4,30,36,928 while the death toll is 5,21,710 as of Tuesday.

Following a continuous downward trend, India’s active COVID-19 caseload dropped to 10,889, which constitutes 0.03 per of the country's total positive cases. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent, the Health Ministry stated.

A total of 946 COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,25,04,329, as per the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, 27,401 precaution doses have been administered to the age group 18-59 years while 2,27,48,406 adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 185.90 Cr (1,85,90,68,616) as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday. This has been achieved through 2,25,28,350 sessions, the Health Ministry added.
