India reports 3,52,991 new COVID-19 positive cases, 2,818 more deaths

India’s COVID-19 confirmed cases mounted to 1,73,13,163 on Monday with 3,52,991 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry’s latest update.

The cumulative number of active cases stood at 28,13,658 (16.25%) as 1,43,04,382 (82.62%) people have recovered from the disease and the death toll rose to 1,95,123 (1.13%) as 2,818 more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi topped the chart of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.

Maharashtra’s caseload of confirmed COVID-19 cases, which remains the highest in India, surged to 42,95,027 and the death toll rose to 64,760.

Kerala and Karnataka reported the second and third highest confirmed COVID-19 cases with 14,05,655 and 13,39,201 respectively. Delhi’s confirmed COVID-19 cases tally reached 10,27,715.

Lakshadweep recorded the least number of COVID-19 death with one fatality so far and confirmed case tally at 2,126 on Monday as per the ministry's update.

In Northeast India, Assam remained the state with highest confirmed COVID-19 cases and its tally mounted to 2,37,533, while Mizoram recorded the least number of confirmed cases, with its tally at 5410 on Monday.
