India reports 2,451 new COVID-19 cases, 54 more deaths

Delhi logged as many as 965 new COVID-19 cases while Kerala recorded 332 cases and 48 COVID-19 related deaths in a span of 24 hours.

India on Friday recorded 2,451 new COVID-19 cases and 54 COVID-19 related deaths in 24 hours, pushing the country's tally and death toll to 4,30,52,425 and 5,22,116 respectively, official sources said.

Of these new COVID-19 cases, as many as 965 cases are reported from Delhi, 367 from Haryana and 332 from Kerala. A total of 48 deaths of the 54 deaths are from Kerala alone.

According to the latest data by the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 1,589 new recoveries and the country's recovery rate is 98.75 per cent and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,25,16,068.

Consequently, India’s COVID-19 active caseload stood at 14,241 as of Friday.

India has so far conducted a total of 83,38,25,991 COVID-19 tests, including 4,48,939 tests done in the last 24 hours, the ministry added.
