India reports 1,088 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 4,30,38,016
A total of 26 more COVID-19 patients died due to the infection in 24 hours and the death toll reached 5,21,736.

India's COVID-19 tally on Wednesday surged to 4,30,38,016 with the addition of 1,088 new positive cases, while 26 more deaths pushed the death toll to 5,21,736, official sources said.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of COID-19 active cases declined to 10,870. The active cases account for 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases, while India's COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent.
A total of 1,081 more patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is at 4,25,05,410, the ministry said.
The weekly positivity rate in the country currently stood at 0.24 per cent and the daily positivity rate was reported to be 0.25 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,86,07,06,499 as per provisional reports till 7 am Wednesday.
So far, as many as 2,32,25,381 adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, 45,289 precaution doses have so far been administered to the age group 18-59 years, the ministry added.
