India records 27 COVID-19 deaths, 3,545 new cases
India’s active caseload dropped to 19,688 on Friday from Thursday's 19,719.

India on Friday recorded 27 COVID-19 related deaths and 3,545 new cases, taking the country's death toll and tally to 5,24,002 and 4,30, 94,938 respectively, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.
The country also recorded 3,549 new COVID-19 recoveries in 24 hours. With these new recoveries, the cumulative tally of recovered patients stood at 4,25,51,248. India’s recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent, the Health Ministry stated.
Consequently, India’s active caseload dropped to 19,688 from Thursday's 19,719.
India has so far conducted 83,98,44,925 cumulative COVID-19 tests, including 4,65,918 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry further added that the country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,89,81,52,695 as per provisional reports till 7 am Friday.
