India records 1,225 new COVID-19 cases, 28 more deaths
India's cumulative tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 4,30,24,440 while the death toll surged to 5,21,129.

India continued to witness a downward trend in the daily COVID-19 cases with 1,225 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. Following the continuous downward trend, India’s active COVID-19 caseload declined to 14,307, constituting 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Union Health Ministry stated.
With the new positive cases, India's cumulative tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 4,30,24,440 while the death toll surged to 5,21,129 with 28 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the Ministry's update, a total of 1,594 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,24,89,004. India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent as of Thursday.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 6,07,987 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted 78,91,64,922 cumulative COVID-19 tests, the Ministry added,
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,84,06,55,005 as per provisional reports till 7 am Wednesday.
