India logs 3,275 new COVID-19 cases, 55 deaths in 24 hours

India's COVID-19 tally on Thursday surged to 4,30,91,393 with the addition of 3,275 new cases while the death toll climbed to 5,23,975 with 55 more fatalities recorded in 24 hours, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.
As per the Health Ministry data, a total of 3,010 more COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 4,25,47,699. India’s recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.
Consequently, India’s COVID-19 active caseload stood at 19,719 as of Thursday, constituting 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the ministry stated.
India has so far conducted 83,93,79,007 cumulative COVID-19 tests, including 4,23,430 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry further added that the country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,89,63,30,362 as per provisional reports till 7 am Thursday.
