India logs 2,841 new COVID-19 cases
India has so far conducted over 84,29,44,795 cumulative COVID-19 tests.

India on Friday recorded 2,841 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths. With the addition of new COVID-19 cases, the country's COVID-19 tally surged to 4,31,16,254 while the death toll reached 5,24,190, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
As per the Health Ministry, India also recorded 3,295 new COVID-19 recoveries, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 4,25,73,460. India’s recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent and the number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to 18,604.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 4,86,628 being conducted. India has so far conducted over 84,29,44,795 cumulative COVID-19 tests, including 4,86,628 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry stated.
Weekly positivity rate in the country currently stands at 0.69 per cent and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 0.5 per cent, the ministry added.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 190.99 crore (1,90,99,44,803) on Friday.
