India logs 1,247 new COVID-19 cases, one death in 24 hours

India's COVID-19 tally rose to 4,30,45,527 while the death toll reached 5,21,966 on Tuesday.

The daily COVID-19 caseload in India on Tuesday dropped to 1,247 from Monday's 2,183, according to the latest data by the Union Health Ministry. 

India's COVID-19 tally rose to 4,30,45,527 while the death toll reached 5,21,966 with one more death in 24 hours. 

The country also recorded 928 recoveries, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 4,25,11,701.  India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent. Consequently, the number of COVID-19 active cases in India stood at 11,860, as of Tuesday, the Health Ministry stated.

India has so far conducted a total of 83,25,06,755 COVID-19 tests, including 4,01,909 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours, the ministry added. 

The Health Ministry further stated that India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,86,72,15,865 as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday.
