India logs 1,096 new COVID-19 cases, 1,447 new recoveries

The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 5,21,345  with 84 more deaths in the last 24 hours.

India on Sunday reported 1,096 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's tally to 4,30,28,131, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 5,21,345  with 84 more deaths in the last 24 hours.

India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent as 1,447 more patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,24,93,773 as of Sunday, the Ministry stated.

Following a continuous downward trend, India’s active caseload further declined to 13,013, constituting 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India has so far conducted 79,07,64,883 COVID-19 tests, including 4,65,904 tests done in the last 24 hours, while the COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,84,66,86,260, the ministry added.
