India's COVID-19 tally on Thursday reached 4,45,16,479, with the addition of 6,422 new cases while the death toll surged to 5,28,250 y with 34 more deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.
On Wednesday, India recorded 5,108 new COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths and the active caseload was 45,749.
As per the update, India has 46,389, constituting 0.1 per cent of the country's total positive cases.
India also recorded 5,748 new COVID-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 4,39,41,840 and the recovery rate is 98.71 per cent, as of Thursday..
As many as 89,06,13,782 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in India, including 3,14,692 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.
While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.71.15 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 2.04 per cent, the ministry added.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,15,98,16,124, including 18,98,12,948 precaution doses.
