How public turnout for Covid vaccination exceeds target in Jiribam

The government authorities set a target of 500 vaccine beneficiaries during the mass vaccination drive in Jiribam.

A total of 699 individuals received COVID-19 vaccines during the mass vaccination programmes conducted in three different areas of Jiribam on Thursday. It reportedly exceeded the initial target of 500 set by the authorities concerned.

The mass vaccination programmes were held on Thursday at Nungphou LP School, Netaji High School Jakuradhor, and Chhotobekra (Sotobekra) Bazaar as a part of the mass COVID-19 vaccination drive that commenced from Wednesday.

Out of the 669 people who were administered vaccines, 484 people belonged to the age group of 18-44 years, and 186 people were in the group of 45 to 60 years while 29 people were above the age of 60. The mass vaccination drive will continue on Friday with vaccination camps scheduled to be held at Kashimpur High School, Mullargao LP School, and Bhawmikpara LP School, Borobekra, sources stated.

On Thursday, the district reported zero new COVID-19 positive cases, while the state's daily new positive tally was 549, according to the state health department. The state also reported no Covid fatalities on Thursday.
