Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s decision to provide free precautionary dose of Covid vaccine to all 18 years and above for 75 days starting 15 July.
“Heartily welcome the decision taken by Union cabinet to provide free precaution dose of covid vaccine to all 18 years and above for 75 days starting 15 July. This is yet another gift by Hon’ PM @narendramodi Ji as we observe the 75th year of independence, #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav,” Biren tweeted.
As a part of the observance of 75 years of independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, free COVID-19 precaution dose will be administered to all the citizens above 18 years of age at government vaccination centres, from July 15 2022 till the next 75 days.

I thank PM @NarendraModi Ji for this decision," Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, tweeted on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the state is yet to open COVID-19 vaccination centres, particularly for inoculation of precautionary dose or third dose for age 18 to 59 years, state Health Services director Dr Rajo had said on July 9.

This is despite the fact that the Centre had reduced the gap between precautionary dose and second dose vaccination from nine months to six months, Dr Rajo said while replying to a media query at the Board Room of the Directorate of Health Service, Lamphel.
