The Manipur government should also focus on treatment of post Covid complicacy, post vaccination complicacy and the various issues faced by the public during the Covid pandemic, the International Social and Peace Advancement (IPSA) has said.

The mortality rate of Covid patients in Manipur is yet to be reduced, the IPSA said in a release, adding that the positive cases also has not reduced much.

Appreciating the various efforts taken up by the state government, CSOs, local clubs and NGOs in combating the pandemic such as mass testing, mass vaccination and increasing of isolation centres, it said that the public needs to support such initiatives.

As most of the houses in the state does not have proper facilities for home isolation, the release suggested that focusing on community isolation will be more effective in containing the spread of the virus.

The IPSA release stated that like making Covid negative certificate mandatory for opening pharmacy, workshop and other shops, the government should give priority for vaccination to those shopkeepers.

In order to clear the doubt regarding safety of the Covid vaccine, it is the need of hour to conduct proper inquiry of those people who died during post vaccination and make an announcement to the public regarding the cause of dead of the people who died during post vaccination, it stated.

In order to save many precious live, the government should also focus on treatment of post Covid complicacy same like focusing only on treatment of Covid positive patient until they become negative, the IPSA further said.

On COVID treatment charges in private hospitals, the IPSA stated that it is unfortunate that the state government revoked the order of the maximum treatment charge fixed by the government itself.

"Revoking of such order is very doubtful and it is totally against the interest of the public," it added.

When private hospitals are imposing a high treatment charge according to their wish, there is a big question on up to what extend the government is monitoring such activity, the IPSA questioned.

Pointing out that many patients parties are struggling to pay huge bills in private hospitals, the IPSA asked the government to consider the suffering of the public and take up necessary steps.

Lastly, the organisation asked patient parties to refrain from taking up any sort of violent act in hospitals such as vandalising hospital properties.
