COVID Vaccine for 12-14 Years: Over 3.63 crore children administered first dose

India's COVID-19 Active caseload currently stands at 94,420, with the report of 17,073 new cases across the country.

Over 3.63 crore children in the 12-14 years age group have been administered first dose of COVID vaccines in India so far, official sources said.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, 3,63,25,473 adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the latest update by the Union Health Ministry stated.

The COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started on April 10, 2022 onwards.

Following it, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,97,11,91,329 as per provisional Health Ministry reports till 7 am on Monday. This has been achieved through 2,56,08,118 sessions, the Health Ministry stated.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 active caseload is now 94,420 with the report of 17,073 new cases. Active cases now constitute 0.22 per cent of the country's total COVID-19 positive cases of 4,34,07,046, while the death toll climbed to 5,25,020 with 21 more death.

Consequently, as of Monday, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.57 per cent. In all, 15,208 more patients recovered and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now 4,27,87,606.

A total of 3,03,604 more COVID-19 tests were conducted. India has so far conducted over 86.10 Cr (86,10,15,683) cumulative tests. Following it, the Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 3.39 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 5.62 per cent.
