With the distribution of essential food items to households in Kekru, Khoirom and Heitroipokpi areas of Wangkhem assembly constituency on Tuesday, local MLA Keisham Meghachandra has reportedly provided essential food items to 15,000 households in the assembly constituency.
Expressing his gratitude to the volunteers of Wangkhem assembly constituency Covid task force, local clubs and meira paibis for their support in distributing the food items, the MLA declared that food items were distributed to the 15,000 households without any distinction of their political views or affiliations. In case of any household being left out, they can either inform him or the task force, and the food items will surely reach the household, he said.
The MLA appealed to all to remain cautious and be united in the effort to tackle the pandemic. A committee has also been formed with doctors, nurses, and management staff along with an ambulance service for helping the people of Wangkhem in the fight against the pandemic, he added.
The distributed food items included a total of 1,000 litres of cooking oil, 30,000 kg of potatoes, 15,000 kg of lentils and 8,000 kg of salt.
