COVID-19: Trend of low daily cases continues in Manipur

Manipur recorded only four new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

Manipur has sustained the trend of low daily COVID-19 cases, with only four new cases in a span of 24 hours. The number of recovered cases surged to 28,672 with 18 more recoveries, the state health department said on Monday. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur is now 29,130, including 373 deaths and 85 active cases, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 common control room.

The new positive cases included one each from Imphal East, Kakching, Senapati and Tamenglong.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

The state's COVID-19 recovery rate also improved to 98.42 per cent, the release stated.

The state health department had advised those in contact with a COVID-19 positive person to isolate themselves immediately, contact the Covid Control room or the district CMO for testing. In case of emergency, one can dial 24x7 Covid Common Control Room Number-1800-345-3818; for home isolation-related cases, one can dial the home isolation helpline numbers- 0385-2414009 (State head quarter) and - 8415944151 (Thoubal), the state health department stated.

One can also avail online teleconsultation by government doctors from home (10 am to 3 pm every day except on Sunday) by downloading eSanjeevaniOPD app at Google Play store or go to the website -  www.esanjeevaniopd.in.

The state health department has also advised the public to dial - 104 Manipur Mental Health Helpline from 9 am to 9 pm, for mental wellbeing. 

Meanwhile, a total of 9,946 beneficiaries have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur, of which 1,612 were vaccinated on Monday.

Of the total beneficiaries vaccinated, 9,570 are healthcare workers, the state health department said.

No severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation till date. There were 37 mild reactions who were on home care, however, all of them have recovered fully, the state health department added.
