COVID-19 recoveries continue to exceed new positive case tally in India

According to the Union Health Ministry, new COVID-19 positive cases pushed India’s COVID-19 confirmed caseload to 4,30,31,958, while the death toll climbed to 5,21,530 as the infection claimed 43 more lives.

The number of daily COVID-19 recoveries continued to exceed new positive case tally in India, as 1,222 more people recovered, while 1,033 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to official sources.

On Wednesday, India reported 1,086 single-day COVID-19 cases and 1,198 COVID-19 recoveries.

According to the Union Health Ministry, new COVID-19 positive cases pushed India’s COVID-19 confirmed caseload to 4,30,31,958, while the death toll climbed to 5,21,530 as the infection claimed 43 more lives.

As the number new COVID-19 positive cases continued to decline, the nationwide COVID-19 active caseload dropped to 11,639 on Thursday.

Thursday’s active cases accounted for 0.03 per cent of the total confirmed cases, while the recovery rate stood at 98.76 per cent in India. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country reached 4,24,98,789 as of Thursday.

So far, 79.25 crore total tests have been conducted so far, with 4,82,039 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update.

There has been a sustained fall in the weekly and daily positivity rates too. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.21 per cent and 0.22 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, 185.20 cr vaccine doses have been administered across the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. So far, 2,04,40,247 adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
