In a sigh of relief, 12 COVID-19 patients in Nagaland recovered from the disease on Wednesday, while the state reported a single case of the virus in the same period, official sources said.

With the new development, the number of recovered COVID-19 cases in Nagaland has gone up to 22. This information also meant that the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the state has gone down to 106.

This information was given by State Health minister S Pangnyu Phom on Wednesday.

However, with a single positive case reported on Wednesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases has gone up to 128.

Meanwhile, the state government will soon test over 800 samples for COVID-19 per day. At the moment, around 170 samples are being tested per day.

Spokesperson for COVID-19 in the State Mmhonlumo Kikon had commented recently that once all Truenat machines “are installed, we can test at least 820 samples per day”

Kikon said seven Truenat machines have arrived in the State while 15 more are coming within this week.  

Mmhonlumo Kikon had also said that since the beginning of the COVID-19 issue the state government has been assisting the stranded people in different manners. “From the very beginning, the State government has been taking the challenge of supporting students and working citizens outside Nagaland to look into the issues they have raised,” he added.

Mmhonlumo Kikon then said that there are 238 quarantine centres across the State accommodating over 13,000 (thirteen thousand) beds.
