Manipur's COVID-19 caseload increased to 25,857 on Saturday as 166 more persons, including nine Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in a day, the state health department said.
Of the total confirmed cases, 2,903 are active cases while 22,655 patients have recovered and the state's recovery rate stood at 87.61 per cent with 210 recoveries on Saturday, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new positive cases from the general population included 64 from Imphal East, 47 from Imphal West, 16 from Bishnupur, seven from Thoubal, five from Noney, four from Kakching, three each from Tamenglong, Senapati, Churachandpur and Jiribam, and two from Ukhrul.
All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The death toll in the state also mounted to 299 as four more persons died due to coronavirus on Saturday, the state health department said, adding that the new COVID-19 fatalities were from Imphal West (1), Churachandpur (1) and Imphal East (2).
The state health department further advised those in contact with a COVID-19 positive person to isolate themselves. In case of emergency, one can dial 24x7 Covid Common Control Room Number-1800-345-3818.
