COVID-19 Fourth Wave: Assam's active caseload rises to 5,621, highest in NE India

Assam's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 7,38,426, while its death toll stood at 8,015.

Assam’s COVID-19 active caseload in the fourth wave reached 5,621, highest among all states in Northeast India, with the report of 670 new positive cases, taking its confirmed caseload to 7,38,426, while its death toll stood at 8,015, as per the latest updates.

India’s COVID-19 Active Caseload stood at 1,43,384. Active cases now constitute 0.33 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases at 4,40,00,138. India's death toll climbed to 5,26,312 as the illness claimed 54 more lives.

A total of 20,408 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.48%. 20,958 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,33,30,442.

The latest  updates saw a total of 4,04,399 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 87.48 Cr (87,48,11,197) cumulative tests.

Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.92% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 5.05%.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 203.94 Cr (2,03,94,33,480) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,69,93,794 sessions.
