COVID-19 Care: Medical aid, cash donation for AMWJU, villagers in remote areas

The aid meant for poor villagers from AMIDA were handed over to Indane distributors of the respective areas of various districts.

COVID-19 medical aid were distributed to All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) and poor villagers living in far flung areas by the All Manipur Indane Distributors’ Association (AMIDA) on Wednesday.

The medical aid included Oximetres, 400 pieces; Glucometre with 600 test strips, 6 pieces; 5 litres hand sanitizer, 40 pieces; hand gloves 4000 pairs; 3 layer face mask, 12,000 pieces; N95 face mask, 1,200 pieces; 100 ml hand sanitizer 400 pieces and ORS apple flavour, 80 cases. They were handed over at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.

Convenor of the association Gurumayum Robindro who is also the proprietor of RBD Indane, handed over the aid to president in-charge, AMWJU Soibam Bokuljao for media personnel. The aid meant for poor villagers were handed over to Indane distributors of the respective areas of various districts.

On the occasion, Robindro said AMIDA resolved to help the needy people and the media fraternity during the second wave of the pandemic. The programme was organised by the apex body of the gas agency of the state. AMIDA under the aegis of All Manipur Petroleum Products Business Forum also organised similar donation programmes earlier in 16 districts of Manipur. The medical relief materials will be handed over to the needy people of far flung places including hilly regions by respective distributors.

Of the total medical relief materials handed over on Wednesday, N95 face mask, 75 pieces; surgical 3 layered face mask, 300 pieces; disposable rubber hand gloves, 2 packets; 100ml hand sanitizer, 100 pieces, ORS apple flavour, 2 cases and monetary aid of Rs 10,000 were handed over to the president in-charge, AMWJU.

Meanwhile, Directorate of Information and Public Relation (IPR) director H Balkrishna also donated monetary aid of Rs 5,000 to AMWJU.
