COVID-19: 79 more test positive in Nagaland

Nagaland's COVID-19 caseload surged to 29,920 on Saturday.

Nagaland on Saturday recorded 79 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's caseload to 29,920 with a positivity rate of 3.96 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.

On Saturday, a total of 1,996 test results were received, of which 79 were found positive for COVID-19. The cumulative number of test results received as of Saturday is 31,6,024, as per the state health department.

Among the new COVID-19 positive cases, 43 are from Dimapur, 24 from Kohima, four from Tuensang, three from Phek, two from Wokha, and one each from Mokokchung, Mon and Zunheboto.

No COVID-19 related death was reported in the state on Saturday and the death toll remained at 600, excluding the 14 non-COVID deaths with COVID-19 positivity.

Meanwhile, 66 new recoveries pushed the cumulative number of recovered cases in Nagaland to 27,601. With these new recoveries, the number of COVID-19 active cases in the state stands at 824 as of Saturday.

The new recoveries included 21 from Mokokchung, 18 from Dimapur, 17 from Kohima, six from Tuensang, three from Longleng, and one from Peren, the health department said in a tweet.

As many as 877 cases have migrated to other states, the state health department added.
