Several people of Kaihlam village in Churachandpur, who are yet to get inoculated with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, received information through SMS that they had been administered the second dose on Thursday.
In confusion, the villagers contacted the PHC of Sinzawl, which is located 100 km away from Kaihlam village, on how the SMSs were sent to their mobile phones as they have not received the second dose. However, PHC authorities responded that they were not aware about the messages sent as the village is not under their jurisdiction.
Sources from the Kaihlam village authority said that so far vaccination programmes have been conducted in 54 villages but he has no knowledge about the SMS.
It may be pointed out that this IFP Churachandpur correspondent got his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on September 28 but no confirmation SMS for the vaccination has been recieved till date.
When this Imphal Free Press correspondent contacted the Health department of Churachandpur, it was clarified that Kaihlam villagers will be vaccinated with the second dose on Friday and the SMSs were mistakenly sent by one nurse.
All the errors will be rectified and those who have not received the confirmation messages after getting the second dose can approach the vaccination officer at his office located at District Immunisation Centre, Churachandpur, it added.
