Assam Rifles men conduct COVID-19 awareness programme in Churachandpur

Dr Garry T Haokip highlighted the current COVID-19 situation in Churachandpur and the state and predicted critical situations with the arrival of winter.

Concerned over the rise in positive cases of COVID-19 in the district, Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted an awareness programme at YMA Hall, Hmuia Veng, Churachandpur wherein approximately 100 people from youth organisations of all the tribes of Churachandpur were sensitised about the pandemic on Sunday.

As Churachandpur recorded 11 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday with 18 deaths so far, the awareness programme on the precautions of the pandemic was organised the Assam Rifles and face masks, sanitisers and informative brochure were distributed to all the attendees.

Assam Rifles medical officer, Dr L Surjit Singh sensitised the participants on details of virus transmission, prevention and precautionary measures.
