Arunachal Pradesh reports two more COVID-19 positive cases; state tally rises to 22

The two cases are asymptomatic and are being shifted to Covid Care centre, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in a tweet early Tuesday.

Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday reported two more COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 22, official sources said.

The two cases are asymptomatic and are being shifted to Covid Care centre, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in a tweet early Tuesday.

With the new detections, Arunachal Pradesh now has 21 active cases.

"Two more #COVID19 asymptomatic positive case has been detected. Both are being shifted from Quarantine facility centre to Covid Care centre. Total active positive now is 21," the CM tweeted.

On Monday, the state recorded highest single-day spike with 15 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total active cases to 19.

"Rise in Positive #Covid19, 15 more positive cases detected, all are in Quarantine facilities being shifted to Covid Care Centre. Total Positive Active as of now is 19," Khandu tweeted.

The state’s first COVID-19 patient, a 31-year-old man from Lohit district, was treated and discharged from a hospital in Tezu on April 16.
