83 deaths push India's COVID-19 death toll to 5,21,656

India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent while the number of COVID-19 active cases declined to 11,365.

COVID-19 claimed 83 more lives in India in a span of 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 5,21,656. According to the Union Health Ministry, India also recorded 1,150 new COVID-19 cases during the same period. 

The last 24 hours saw a total of 4,66,362 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted 79,34,29,395 cumulative tests, the Ministry stated, 

A total of 1,194 more COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is 4,25,01,196. India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent while the number of COVID-19 active cases declined to 11,365, which constitute 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases, as per the Ministry data.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,85,53,08,35. As many as 2,16,25,438 vaccine doses have been administered to 12-14 years age group so far and 2,41,82,818 Precaution Doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and Over 60 years) for COVID vaccination have been administered so far, the Health Ministry added.
