59,935 eligible persons yet to be vaccinated in Ukhrul district: DSO

Ukhrul reported 22 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

Only 27,698 people out of 87,633 eligible persons, have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukhrul district, Manipur, according to the District Surveillance Officer (DSO) Ukhrul. 

The DSO stated that as of January 16 till August 31, only 19,593 persons have been administered the first dose while 8,105 have been inoculated with both doses.

“Only 27,698 people have been inoculated so far, which means that 59,935 eligible persons are yet to take the Covid-19 vaccine in Ukhrul district of Manipur,” the DSO stated.  

Meanwhile, 22 persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, pushing the district's cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to 1,368, including 748 males and 620 females.

While the COVID-19 death toll in the district remained at 36, the number of active cases increased to 146, the DSO stated, adding that nine more patients were discharged on Tuesday.

Of the total active cases in the district, 27 patients are lodged at the district hospital isolation ward, 44 at transit covid care centre, 20 at TK woodland Covid hospital, and four at Ukhrul higher secondary school CHIC.
