After one 50-year-old person died on Sunday, family members urged the authority concerned to take necessary steps to find out the actual cause of death, stating that they suspected the cause of death was due to COVID-19 vaccination.

Family members of the deceased, Phanjiubam Bheigo, son of Phanjoubam Bira of Andro Mamang Lekai, reported that he took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday last. The next day, he had a mild fever and body ache. However, he took paracetamol tablets like others usually do after the vaccination.

When one of the family members checked for vacancy at JNIMS, there was no bed available at the hospital and so he was again taken to RIMS, Lamphel on the same day.

When Bheigo was admitted to RIMS casualty, the doctor told the family members that he was brought dead. Later, the body was admitted at JNIMS morgue for autopsy and after conducting autopsy on Monday the body was handed over to the family members for his last rite.
