Manipur on Wednesday reported 358 COVID-19 cases, including 23 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), taking the total confirmed caseload to 1,28,231, according to the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
A release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room stated that 2,508 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Of it, 156 people from Imphal West tested positive for COVID-19. Imphal East reported 78 new cases, Churachandpur 44, Chandel 17, Bishnupur 16, Thoubal 15, Kakching 7, Kamjong three, Kangpokpi one, Noney six, Pherzawl one, Senapati two, Tamenglong eight, Tengnoupal three and Ukhrul one.
The new cases pushed the total number of COVID-19 active cases to 2004. Of it 1,704 affected persons are security personnel. The state's death toll remained 2015 with no report of new deaths.
The cumulative number of recoveries reached 1,24,212 as 145 more recoveries were reported from across the state. The recovery rate is now 96.86 per cent.
The total number of people who have been administered the vaccine reached 24,03077 (first dose: 13,69,680, second dose: 10,24129 and precautionary dose: 9,268).
As of January 17, a total of 138 D-type oxygen cylinders and 68 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, the release added.
