SAYOKA releases two books

The books are entitled ‘Chingnung gi Khonthang’, a collection of poems written by 22 writers from Tentha and ‘Pupu gi Funga Wari’, a collection of folk tales written by Ningthou Naoriya.

Sahitya Yokhat Kanglup (SAYOKA) Tentha, Thoubal district on Sunday released two books in an event that was held at the playground of the organisation on Sunday. 

The books are entitled ‘Chingnung gi Khonthang’, a collection of poems written by 22 writers from Tentha and ‘Pupu gi Funga Wari’, a collection of folk tales written by Ningthou Naoriya.

Chingnung gi Khonthang’ is the 10th book published by SAYOKA Tentha.

Machu Taret ki Atiya’ (short stories, 1980), ‘Ching nung gi Hari’ (poems, 2004), ‘Ei amasung Khung’ (short stories, 2008) were some of the books published by SAYOKA Tentha earlier. ‘Chingnung gi Khonthang’ is edited by Sengoi Sanasam.  

At the occasion, Ibosana Yambem spoke about the book in detail while Sanasam Nabadweep spoke about the second book.

Giving his keynote address, secretary SAYOKA Tentha Maibam Premojit recollected the formation of SAYOKA in 1979 and its journey of survival till today. He promised that the organisation will release books in the days to come for promoting literature in rural areas as well as to nurture young writers.

The event was attended by president, Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal, M Rajendra as chief guest, president SAYOKA, Kartik Maiba as president and president, Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing Khundongbam ongbi Gunamani leima as guest of honour respectively. 

Later, a poetry reading session was also held wherein M Rajendra attended as the  president and more than 20 poets read their poems at the event.
