'Rani Gaidinliu Legendary freedom fighter from North East' released

During the release of the book by Som Kamei, HAC chairman Dinganglung Gangmei stressed the need to educate the younger generations of today on the history of Manipur.

Hills Area Committee chairman Dinganglung Gangmei stressed the need to educate the younger generations of today on the history of Manipur during the release of the book entitled, Rani Gaidinliu Legendary freedom fighter from North East by Som Kamei in Imphal on Friday.

Gangmei also called for unity and love among all indigenous people despite the differences, while speaking at the book launch function organised by Gangmumei Kamei(GK) Foundation at TRC Kalam Kai in Imphal East.

The book on the life history of the great freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu published by Niyogi Books is a pride for all the Zeliangrong community as it reflects the contribution of the Zeilangrong community in nation-building, Gangmei said.

Also, mentioning the inclusion of Rani Gaidinliu among the freedom fighters as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the national capital, he said, “The Zeiliangrong people are proud of our legacy.”

Stressing the need of emotional attachment between the different ethnics groups of Manipur in any movement taken up in the state’s interest, he pointed out the need to educate the younger generations on the history of Manipur.

Union MoS RK Ranjan in his speech apprised the cosmologists to dig out the bonds maintained between the people of hills and valleys of Manipur since time immemorial.

The book was reviewed by deputy secretary of MHRC Elangbam Anand Singh and research associate of Centre for Myanmar Studies, MU Nongthombam Jiten while the function was presided over by professor N Joykumar Singh.
