Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba on Monday highlighted the need of more books based on science and called on the writers of the state to publish more books on the subject.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the book release ceremony of professor N Rajmuhon Singh's second revised and enlarged edition of the novel ‘Marie Curie’ at JN Manipur Dance Academy in Imphal West.

He extended appreciation to the writer for his skills in the field of literature, despite being a Chemistry teacher in profession. The novel will add a new taste in the Manipur literature, he added.

Director of JN Manipur Dance Academy P Bilash Singh while speaking as special guest said that the novel contains all the qualities of being a historical novel as it is based on the real life story of the two-times Nobel prize winner Madame Marie Curie.

He further pointed out that literature also plays a vital role in the upliftment of culture and tradition apart from the performing arts.  He stressed the need of publishing books based on the indigenous dying art forms of Manipur such as ‘Khongjom Prava’, ‘Wari Leeba’, ‘Pena Phamsak’ among others to preserve them.
