Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba on Monday highlighted the need of more books based on science and called on the writers of the state to publish more books on the subject.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the book release ceremony of professor N Rajmuhon Singh's second revised and enlarged edition of the novel ‘Marie Curie’ at JN Manipur Dance Academy in Imphal West.
It was released by the DM University in collaboration with the Intellectual Forum of North East, Manipur.
The novel contains certain powerful elements which can motivate a person and create a sense of nationalism to the readers, said Sanajaoba.

He extended appreciation to the writer for his skills in the field of literature, despite being a Chemistry teacher in profession. The novel will add a new taste in the Manipur literature, he added.
Director of JN Manipur Dance Academy P Bilash Singh while speaking as special guest said that the novel contains all the qualities of being a historical novel as it is based on the real life story of the two-times Nobel prize winner Madame Marie Curie.
He further pointed out that literature also plays a vital role in the upliftment of culture and tradition apart from the performing arts. He stressed the need of publishing books based on the indigenous dying art forms of Manipur such as ‘Khongjom Prava’, ‘Wari Leeba’, ‘Pena Phamsak’ among others to preserve them.

After the release function, a discussion programme on the novel was also held with retired professor Polem Nabachandra Singh in the chair.
The function was presided by president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Longjam Joychandra Singh while president of Macha Chanu, Kakching N Pramodini Devi gave a review of the novel.
