Book ‘Environmental Sustainability’ released

A statement stated that the book was jointly edited by Ch Memtombi Chanu, Elangbam Gopal Singh and Ngangom Jasantakumar Singh.

A book titled ‘Environmental Sustainability’ was released by Dhanamanjiru University vice-chancellor N Rajmuhon Singh who was the chief guest of the book release function held by National Research Centre (NRC), Manipur at NRC Library Hall at Chanchipur.

A statement stated that the book was jointly edited by Ch Memtombi Chanu, Elangbam Gopal Singh and Ngangom Jasantakumar Singh. The book release function was attended by former head of Zoology department, Manipur University and former dean of Students’ Welfare N Mohilal Meitei as the guest of honour, NRC president Thongam Ajit Singh as president and Zoology department, Manipur University associate professor Ksh Birla Singh as the book reviewer along with CSOs, academicians and students of various institutions, it mentioned.

It maintained that the chief guest N Rajmuhon Singh spoke on the rising danger of the increase of harmful gases which catalyst global warming. He also highlighted the various steps that can be taken to control the rising global temperature, including wetlands conservation, afforestation, toxic waste control and traditional knowledge protection etc., it continued. He added that the book ‘Environmental Sustainability’ can be a reference for researchers regarding the global ‘tripolar venture of Education-Research-Innovation’, it stated.

It informed that the guest of honour N Mohilal Meitei talked about harmful global warmings such as the extinction of many flora and fauna and the decrease of non-renewable resources. The book reviewers spoke on the importance of the book in the fight against the rising environmental deterioration, it added.
