‘Thomas Hardy Ningshing Sahitya Mana’ 2022 for social commentary writers will be conferred on Laishram Tomba Khuman for his book ‘Khangabok Amasung Ikop Ningthou Puya’ by Sahitya Yokhat Kanglup (SAYOKA).
A release issued by SAYOK stated that the SAYOKA had initiated the ‘Thomas Hardy Ningshing Sahitya Mana’ in remembrance of Thomas Hardy from 2017 onwards with the aid of writer Kabiraj Moirangthem as the donor.
The award which consists of Rs 5,000 along with a shawl and a certificate will be presented to Laishram Tomba Khuman on the foundation day of SAYOKA which falls on October 10, it added.
Laishram Tomba Khuman had written ‘Khangabok Amasung Ikop Ningthou Puya’ based on his birthplace, it stated. He had also written a book entitled ‘Abung Laishram Yumdarol Puya’, it added.
