Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviews Indo-Bangladesh border situation in Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reviewed the security arrangements and 'Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System' along the Indo-Bangladesh border from the Mankachar sector in Assam.

"Visited Mankachar BOP of Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam and reviewed the security arrangements and 'Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System'.  Modi government is providing modern technology to our security forces to secure the borders of the country," Shah tweeted in Hindi.

"The biggest problem of the border areas was the lack of development which led to migration there. Modi government is providing continuous development there, due to which migration has reduced a lot. Today,I am very happy to see the enthusiasm and faith of the people living in the border area of Mankachar BOP (Assam)," the Union Home Minister said in another tweet.

The union home minister, who is on a two-day visit to Assam, was accompanied by Assam Chief MInister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BSF officials during his visit to the border outpost of the 45th Battalion of
the Border Security Force (BSF) at Mankachar along Bangladesh border.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma informed in a tweet that the Home Minister was briefed about the operational areas of the outpost and its relevance to border security by senior BSF officials.

Upon his arrival in Assam, the Home Minister visited Maa Kamakhya Temple at Thakuranbari, Mankachar and sought the blessings of Maa Kamakhya.
