International Photography Day 2022: MITFAM presents 200 exclusive works by 29 photographers in Manipur

MITFAM, a three-day photography exhibition, was launched at DM University Commerce Ground, Imphal, on Friday.

As many as 200 unique and exclusive works by 29 photographers in Manipur delighted visitors at MITFAM - a three-day photography exhibition-cum-sales, which was launched in Imphal to mark the International Photography Day 2022 Friday.

MITFAM, organised by Royal Photography Manipur, was launched at DM University Commerce Ground, Imphal, on Friday.

Addressing the function as chief guest, DM University, vice-chancellor Prof Nongmaithem Rajmuhon Singh, said that like any other discipline, the scope of photography is large and the value of a photograph is immense as it captures memories and documents the moment in time, he added.

Pointing out that Manipur is known not only for its excellence in the field of sports and rich cultural heritage, but also for various forms of creativity, he said that the youth are highly talented in the field of science and technology and many Manipuri scientists staying abroad have become international figures,.

And, many have started taking up photography as profession which is good for the state, he said, encouraging young photographers to develop their career passionately so that they can bring laurels to the state at international and national platforms.

Other dignitaries who attended the function were Royal Photography Manipur president Thoudam Jibankumar Singh and Manipur Amateur Photo Club general secretary as president and guest of honour respectively.
